Company OVerview

Distribute offers a streamlined portal or platform that tracks inventory, pricing and sell sheets for the seller and buyer in real-time, so business owners can make quick and controlled wholesale purchases using helpful analytics specific to their industry. Business owners spend less time coordinating business transactions and more time growing their businesses.

Project scope

The project entailed creating marketing visuals, copy, and a new brand for Distribute’s marketing site that clearly communicates what Distribute does for suppliers and other key stakeholders in a more compelling way than the current sitie.

Take Control

Distribute’s business model was created specifically to protect and enhance your brand’s value. Choose which buyers you want to work with. Control your terms of agreement for each of your buyers. Regain control of vital business relationships, brand value and pricing.

Direct Access
For years, suppliers have been unable to expand their business to new buyers because they’ve been stuck selling to the same rep. groups and buyers. Distribute is buying out the companies who are holding buyers and suppliers captive in order to provide direct access to buyers and eliminate the gatekeepers who inhibit direct access to wholesale buyers.

Process

1) Determine the pain points of the current site.
Interview CEO and sales team to find out what messaging was missing from our current site. Asked team members who had been working for the company since it’s inception, “What is wrong with the existing content, and how would you improve it?"

2) Define the demographics for the marketing site.
Suppliers are used in this sample, although the marketing site was used by HR to attract talent to the company, to pitch the product and company to investors, and to attract buyers to the platform

3) Collect feedback from suppliers.
Suppliers were interviewed by various employees at trade shows and via listening in on sales phone conversations. Demographic includes suppliers who currently use the product and suppliers that are likely to start using the product.

4) Narrow the scope of the demographic, if possible.
The CEO, Creative Director, sales team and myself met a few times and determined that our strategy and target market would be the housewares industry because this industry had suppliers with the greatest need for Distribute’s platform and would provide the greatest profit margin for Distribute.

5) Create messaging based on the supplier feedback.
I worked with the CEO and Creative Director to come up with messaging for the suppliers section of the website. I was the lead on this project, with strategy and general concepts and direction provided by the CEO.

6) Create highly engaging visuals to pair with the new messaging.
I chose to use short animated gif’s for this particuar project because the CEO and Creative Director wanted to emphasize dynamic inventory. I felt it would be ironic to use static imagery to describe something that is dynamic. Furthermore, the Creative Director wanted to emphasize our expertise as a tech startup based in San Francisco to suppliers in order to garner trust with non tech savvy suppliers. I felt it would be appropriate to showcase current website design trends paired with our current technology to emphasize our position. I first created sketches and presented these to the Creative Director. Once the concepts were approved, I created animations using after effects and Blender 3D for the main top image.
